Family Fun At The Dirt Track With Monster Trucks

Our family had an absolute blast at the recent Monster Truck Bash held at The Dirt Track in Charlotte, NC. It was an event we’d been eagerly anticipating, especially our daughter, who’s been asking us to take her for a couple of years. We wanted to wait until she was old enough to fully enjoy it and handle the noise, considering her history of ear problems.

We kicked off our day in Charlotte by exploring some of the local mall stores, making the most of our time before the Pit Party. As the Pit Party’s starting time approached, we made our way to The Dirt Track.

I was pleasantly surprised by the wealth of activities available for kids and adults alike at the Pit Party. The Circle K Back-to-School Monster Truck Bash Pit Party was thoughtfully designed to ensure children had a blast, and there were enjoyable experiences for adults too. The monster trucks were on display for everyone to take photos of, and the drivers were signing autographs – although we decided to skip the autograph line. What we couldn’t pass up was the chance to ride in a monster truck before the lines got too long.

While the $10 per person price tag for the monster truck ride seemed a bit high initially, I’m so glad we went for it. It was worth every penny. Describing the experience of riding in the back of a monster truck is a challenge, but here’s my attempt: it felt like the most exhilarating carnival ride you could imagine. It was a little nerve-wracking for me, but I trusted the driver and had a fantastic time. The monster truck sped around in circles at high speeds, even going over a dirt mound, tossing us back and forth while we screamed and laughed. My daughter absolutely loved it!

Following our thrilling monster truck ride, we explored the rest of the Pit Party. My daughter snapped photos of her favorite truck, Stone Crusher. We also visited some exhibit booths before locating our seats in the stands. We had the perfect seats, in my opinion. We sat in row 28 of section 105, giving us an ideal view of the center of the track. We were high enough to take photos without the fence obstructing our view, and my camera’s zoom allowed me to capture some incredible pictures and videos of the event.

My favorite part of the show was the monster trucks’ freestyle performances. Each driver took the stage, one at a time, wreaking havoc and creating mayhem – it was absolutely thrilling! Additionally, the motorcycle show was a big hit, with riders performing jaw-dropping tricks for the fans. The only downside for my daughter was missing out on a t-shirt – they were thrown into the stands, but only a few lucky fans caught one. She was also disappointed about not getting an autograph from Stone Crusher, but if you had seen the autograph line, you’d understand why we opted out.

Apart from those minor disappointments, my daughter had an incredible time. By the end of the night, she was utterly exhausted. After a pit stop for dinner at a nearby restaurant, we began our long drive back home, where she slept most of the way. The next day, my husband mentioned wanting to buy souvenir monster trucks, but unfortunately, they only sold t-shirts and stuffed animals. Nevertheless, our daughter left with a stuffed Lug Nut and unforgettable memories.

Here are a few pictures of our fantastic day at the Monster Truck Bash. If you ever get the chance to take your family to a monster truck show, I wholeheartedly recommend it – it’s a thrilling experience you won’t soon forget!
